What is your dog's favourite snack?
To name just one snack would be impossible for Roy. Chicken, carrots, watermelon, broccoli - you name it, he eats it. Though he does have a particular soft spot for frozen blueberries.
How did you and your pooch meet?
Roy was born on October 25th 2020, in South Wales and some 8 weeks later, we drove for 175 miles to pick him up. It was love at first sight.
Roy wears our Kente Dog Bow Tie.
What is your dog's favourite hobby?
Before getting Roy, we heard a lot to expect that 'dachshunds are lazy' and that they 'sleep all day long'. We've found this to be the opposite for our Roy. He loves nothing more than woodland walks and green open spaces to zoom around. His energy is endless. When not out and about he sits in the living room window greeting each person, dog, cat, driver or simply gust of wind that passes by.
What's your favourite thing about your pup?
When Roy wants his tummy rubbed, he rolls onto his back and waves his paws around frantically. He only stops when you fulfill his command.
Roy wears our Starry Night Dog Jumper
Does your dog go by any nicknames?
He mostly goes by iterations of Roy - (Royston, Royster etc) but also responds to Peanut, Snoot Dog and of course - @hotdogroy
Do you have a favourite dog friendly local business that you would like to shout out?
We live in North-East London and two local businesses that are incredibly dog friendly are Luminary Bakery - they give Roy a treat each time we visit, and The Londesborough - our lovely neighbourhood pub with fab staff and a friendly crowd. They also give Roy a treat each time we visit.
Thank you to Roy (& his human, Emma) for taking the time to speak to us! You can follow Roy on Instagram @hotdogroy.
