Festival of Cats started life as a celebration of T.S.Eliot's book of poetry - “Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats" and much like the book, the festival celebrates all things cat. The festival is taking place March 25th to 27th, and there will be a series of exhibitions, workshops and events in and around Margate. The Festival of Cats exhibition will be on at The Margate School features artworks from over 100 local and national artists, including work from us and our sister brand Artisans & Adventurers! The works featured will be from across many different art forms from paintings to animations to poetry, the exhibition will be a celebration of all things cat and creative.
Other exciting events taking place as part of the festival include Caturday at the Palace Cinema where they will be screening The Electrical Life of Louis Wain (12A) followed by a Q&A with Charlotte Wilde, professional cat trainer for the film! There's also a fantastic over 18's cabaret night featuring drag performances, costume competitions and a cat walk at Margate Arts Club, tickets can be found here. There will also be plenty of family-friendly workshops and activities taking place over the course of the festival. Do pop down and see if you can spot us in the exhibition!
